WELCOME TO
To be a teacher, your own practice needs to take priority. We practice Therapeutic Hatha Yoga every morning to support your development as a yoga practitioner. Therapeutic Hatha Yoga uses traditional asana held with complete presence to hold the space for you to heal the nervous system.
Living and learning Yoga together with a diverse group of yoga teacher trainers is a unique aspect of the training. Our teachers inspiring paths and sharing motivates students to step into their own path.
There is no better place to integrate these topics and teachings than being totally off grid in nature. Nature is our biggest support on the training and the ideal setting for this life changing journey as we rest to the sounds of the passing river and wake to the sounds of the birds.
The material is taught to fit diverse learning styles. We mostly learn through the morning practice reflections, we also practice teaching from very early in the course so that by the time week 3 comes, students are confident to teach a full class!
Our Off Grid Yoga School community consists of all alumni from all cohorts who cheer each other on and support one another on the yoga practice and teaching journeys. 21 days with your small group of peers and teacher trainers delving deep into ourselves and yoga forms a close bond which students have forever.

Dedication. Expertise. Passion.
For 20 years I have found a sense of peace and healing through Yoga, and I'm humbled to share this practice and way of life.
Through the process of building Cara Creek Eco Lodge together with my husband, and living an off-grid close-to-nature lifestyle here since 2017, I’ve come to realize that natural living and yogic living go hand in hand. For me, nature is the ideal space to deepen one’s Yoga practice, and learn ways to both integrate Yoga and share it with others.
The core principles of Off Grid Yoga School is to honor authentic Yoga to the highest respect; to apply Yogic ways to the Western way of life to create balance; to hold space for the development of each student to have a solid self-care routine in the form of Therapeutic Yoga; to encourage each student to share what resonates with them within the vast philosophy of Yoga.
My deepest gratitude to all who have impacted my journey and to those that will come - my beloved teachers, students, family, friends and all of life’s rich experiences.

Franzi began her journey to healing with her study of psychology and ultimately graduating as a counsellor in Vienna. Dismayed by the narrow parameters that defined psychological health in the Western system she travelled to India where she worked with orphaned children. There she met her teachers - yoga therapists Acharya Venkatesh and Acharya Hema, with whom she studied for three years.
Franzi has experienced a profound return to health through the kriyas and practices learned under their guidance. Vipassana has also been a great part of her practice.
Her teaching is based on the therapeutic approach of traditional hatha yoga.
Healing through the observation and assimilation of sensation in order to release the blocks causative of injury and degeneration.

Manon has been a Vinyasa flow yoga teacher for over a decade and had her own yoga studio in Bristol.
Over the years and especially after having her first daughter now almost 9 years ago her yoga practice became more gentle and intiuitive following the flow and the needs of her body.
Over the last 10 years she has studied with various teachers to deepen her understanding of natural movement. Her classes invite students to go inwards, exploring postures from the inside out.

My healing journey started about 25 years ago, that's when yoga and reiki found me!
I was very much a cardio person back then and often laughed at yoga thinking they aren't working hard! so I gave it a go and have never looked back, yoga and plant medicine has changed my life so much.
I did my YTT in 2014 completing it in June 2016 from there I have added to my training ( I probably got a bit obsessed with workshop and weekly courses ) I have trained in Restorative and Yin and I feel Yin has stolen some of my heart, Probably because I found it challenging to sit still, I lost patient a few times in my training with the chitter of the mind trying to take control.
I have so much gratitude when teaching my students, I learn so much from them and love watching the change in their practice as yoga takes hold and transforms not just their body's but their way of feeling and thinking. When I was younger I grew up being told everyday is a school day and it really is, I will live the rest of my days learning all things yoga.

Yoga Teacher & Thai Yoga Masseuse
Yoga is and remains the path I have taken toward healing. For over 20 years I’ve tried and tested many techniques from ashtanga yoga to transcendental meditation, and the teachings of various gurus and various plant medicines.
Like so many, my life has been about deconditioning from the traumatic influences of an unwell society. I’ve met so many inspiring and compassionate people along the way and discovered many gifts on the other side of healing. I can only feel gratitude for the fierce grace that has blessed his path.
The practices I share have helped me so much and I have complete faith in the methods that I practice and teach. I never teach anything I have not experienced for myself. I teach in the hope that what I share will in some small way contribute to helping the student find more peace within themselves, and thus contribute to making the world a better place.

Sandra is an experienced yoga student and certified yoga teacher since 2018.
She loves emphasizing on the internal perception and experience by combining different types of bodywork such as Critical Alignment yoga and
Somatics.
Music is an important part of her life. Ever since her childhood, she loves to sing and play various instruments.
For her, yoga and singing mantras is a way to dive deeper into the Self. It is her way of slowing down, heal, letting go and trust. Taking the time, listening to her inner wisdom, surprise herself, be touched and connect to all there is.
Sandra
Yoga Teacher & Kirtan Leader
My journey as a Yoga teacher began at Cara Creek when I joined the teacher training in 2021.
I initially wanted to deepen my own practice and understanding of yoga but I found a love of sharing yoga with others through the wonderful teachers on the course.
I came to yoga through chronic pain and a desire to holistically manage my hypermobile body. As I have worked through chronic pain, yoga has been the one thing I am able to turn to that helps both my mind and body in times of stress and times of power. I am passionate about teaching others about hypermobility and guiding yoga classes with a focus on strength and alignment rather than flexibility.
I also offer optional yoga photoshoots towards the end of the teacher training, guiding participants with an awareness of mindfulness and grounding to create an authentic and present image.

Daisy May is happiest with her hands in the earth, growing and foraging foods that heal.
Her passions root in nutrition, herbalism and teaching yoga.
Creator of Herbal yoga, a weaving of sensory and intuitative herbalism and yoga, supporting people's journey into getting to know themselves and the plants deeper, remembering the often buried wisdom of the plant world.
She lives off grid on a little mountain in Portugal where she practises growing, and supporting the land to rewild itself, when she's not there, she's cooking for ecological courses and retreats or sharing her potions at festivals.
